Overview
Duke Energy Generation Services (DEGS) entered into a 15-year agreement with Children's Hospital and Health Center to build and operate a cogeneration central plant for its hospital in San Diego, Calif. Under the agreement, DEGS replaced the existing 23-year-old cogeneration plant with a new central plant as well as installed boilers and chillers for hot water and air conditioning. The central plant nearly doubled the hospital’s electric generating capacity.
