Project Overview
- The 70 megawatt North Allegheny Windpower project commenced operation in September, 2009. Duke Energy assumed ownership of the development project – located in Blair and Cambria counties, Pa., roughly 95 miles east of Pittsburgh in July, 2009. North Allegheny represents Duke Energy’s first commercial wind farm in the eastern U.S.

Highlights
The Project consists of 35 Gamesa wind turbines, each capable of producing two megawatts of electricity. The wind farm generates enough energy to power approximately 18,000 homes.
